Challis Design is a multi-disciplinary design consultancy specialising in wayfinding, interpretation, exhibitions, graphic design and project management.

We are experienced in developing projects focusing on themes of environment, First Nations Peoples, social and natural history. Deliverables include displays, exhibitions, signage, murals and sculptural formed installations. Our experienced design and production team, work closely with clients at every project stage to achieve customised, creative outcomes. For each project, our mission is to achieve high quality deliverables that fulfil the brief through a mindful process of collaboration, planning and execution.

The company began servicing interpretation projects for public education within the exhibition and display sector. The development of specialist design and implementation for signage projects developed to compliment major projects and has now become a large part of our design consultancy.

We have experience in wayfinding signage, interpretive signage, regulatory and specialist sculptural installations. We often design sculptural forms, combining complex structures with mixed materials and graphic elements. We manufacture these items inhouse, with elements outsourced to contractors or specialist services to achieve the final deliverables.

Our structures are designed to reflect the themes, location, purpose and integrity of the project.

Historical Experience and Capability
We have enjoyed working on a wide range of interpretive projects with corporate and government institutions over a 36year period.

We prefer contracts that we design and manage through to manufacture and installation, which ensures the design vision and production quality is achieved and maintained throughout the entire process. We will provide regular updates and emailed PDFs to the project supervisor/s to ensure ongoing engagement and project accountability.

We have developed a positive working relationship with First Nations groups and cooperative entities, undertaking and delivering many creative storytelling projects. Collaboration has involved the development of content and setting design directions. Challis Design has significant experience to successfully manage your project from concept inception through to the installation of high-quality deliverables.
