This sensitively presented, inclusive, and engaging exhibition was produced on a relatively small budget. The project is intriguing and immediately engages the visitor, even the assessor, who really wants to see it.

Whilst this project is a complex technical project its implementation presents a refreshing simplicity of form, allowing users to freely circulate and enjoy the space around the interpretive elements.

Exceptional image quality and ability to interact with the landscape and story through multimedia provides a number of avenues for visitors to engage and enjoy the installation. Murrook exhibits a strength of curatorial vision and respectful development over time to create a beautifully crafted exhibit.

Convergence Design
Ned Kelly Discovery Hub
Set within and designed with a spectacular building, this interpretation encompasses the passion of the story it tells. It envelops the visitor within the story through placement and the selection of lighting and materials which enhance the indoor environment to be evocative of a slab hut in a bushland setting. The interpretation tells the many stories of the one theme being strong in its narrative through the conception of the visitor centred around a singular topic.

Ngilgi Caves
The innovation and experimentation demonstrated in the interactive displays and built elements enhance the visitor experience and understanding of the caves’ formation in a unique and engaging fashion. A creative response to a difficult setting.

Dharug Yana
Simple, elegant and robust installations in a new landscape and environment. The loop trail is an exciting addition to the new TAFE, helping to create a sense of place but also acting as a learning tool focusing on traditional technologies.

The winner is an interpretation ‘natural’ and an enthusiastic and highly competent member of the interpretation team. She has continued to expand her knowledge and interpretive skill set and has a talent for exploring different interpretive angles whilst having a diligent and mature approach to stakeholder consultation.
